Herod and Peter

+Read Acts 12. Compare and contrast the two main characters.+

What motivated each of them?
Herod, the King:
+ Vengeance
+ Acted out based on whatever pleased the people
+ Worldliness--wanted others to think of him as a god, not as a man

Peter, the Prophet:
+ Acted on faith in God
+ Humility--Gave all glory and thanks to God

How did they deal with others?
Herod, the King:
+ If you angered him, he apprehended you OR killed you

Peter, the Prophet:
+ Even when he was imprisoned, he still prayed
+ Went forth sharing the miracles of God

How did God deal with them?
Herod, the King:
+ God sent an angel to smote Herod, for "he gave not God the glory"

Peter, the Prophet:
+ God sent an angel to deliver Peter from prison
