Choice 1: Romans 1. The Gospel of Christ is the Power of God unto Salvation
+Review Romans 1:3-4; Luke 1:31-32; 3:23-31
+How is Jesus Christ both the son of David and the Son of God?
+IF the Lord is both heir to the king (David) and to God, then in what ways can the Lord rightfully reign?
+Why it was essential for the Savior of
the world to be both mortal and immortal.
We are all spirit sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father (and Heavenly Mother). Then we came here to earth to gain our physical bodies. Therefore, we also have our earthly father (and mother). It is the same for Christ. Even though He is the Firstborn, the only Begotten Son of our Heavenly Father, He still entered this world as a baby, having earthly parents--Mary and Joseph. Mary found favor with God, and He sent Christ to be born of her. Thus, Joseph became Jesus' father at birth. Now Joseph was the son of Heli, which traces back to being the son of David (and yes, clear back to the son of Adam, which was the son of God). So, Jesus is both the son of Joseph (which is the son of David) and the Son of God (our Eternal Father). Being the son of David, He was mortal; being the Son of God, He was
immortal. After reading John 10:17-18, it was essential for the
Savior of the world to be both mortal and immortal because He willingly gave His life and then was resurrected. He was able to do this marvelous act because He is the Son of the Father; thus, He has the power to do so. Also, because He is both mortal and immortal, He experienced the same temptations and feelings that we experience--though He never yielded to them.

+How did Paul feel about the gospel?
He was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
+In what ways can you show you are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ?
I can show my love for the gospel of Christ by not being afraid to share the gospel when opportunities present themselves. I can also show that I am not ashamed of the gospel by how I choose to live my daily life. My example often speaks louder than words. Thus, I must not only share the gospel, but I must live the gospel. I love the gospel with every fiber of my being; I want others to be able to see that and know that about me.

+Place a checkmark next to the sins on your list that are still a problem today.
This step is rather unnecessary because every single one of those sins is very much still prevalent today. The list would be redundant.
+What reasons were given for why people commit these sins?
They knew, or once knew God. But then fell away to where their hearts were darkened and hardened to the truth. They became unlearned in a sense. Because even though they knew what they were doing was wrong, they grow so far from God that they did not care--they found pleasure in their sins. Even though there sins caused them to suffer. That is why I say they are unlearned. One would think that after suffering for so long, one would come around again. But these people were so far from the truth that I guess they did not see anything but sin as an option.
+What does it mean in verse 25 when Paul said that people "worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator"?
This means that they worshiped idols and engraven images rather than the Almighty God. They did not believe in God, but many gods.
